CHALLENGE
The challenge of this project was to create a convergence between engineering, design, and innovation to develop an electric vehicle for human transportation. The user, as well as the design, were free to interpret each other.

solution
Koi is a three-wheeled single-person recreational vehicle, with front-wheel drive on its hubless wheel and Ackermann-type rear steering on its two rear wheels.

One of the biggest challenges of the design process was to create a compact and adaptable vehicle, without losing any of its qualities or the functionality of its subsystems.

Koi has a T-type rear steering system, which consists of an axle located between two bearings, which are located under the surface that supports the rear foot, by moving the rear foot, the axle pivots and drives the bar system connected to the rear tire steering, thus allowing the vehicle to turn.
It has a front-drive system, which works using a base motor connected to a sprocket transmission system, the sprocket is connected to the motor which transmits its movement to the sprocket using a chain, the driven sprocket is connected to a shaft which is connected to a toothed chain located inside the front wheel, which drives the front wheel.
The speed and the rear brakes are managed with a control, which the user can hold in the hand.
